Alessandro Berni Gallery is pleased to present Suspended She: Inner Tensions, a solo exhibition by Ribana Szutor, on view from May 21 through May 31, 2026, at 511 West 25th Street, New York.
In this new exhibition, Szutor explores tension as both image and atmosphere. A female presence appears only briefly, emerging from an undefined space before dissolving back into abstraction. The figure is not the subject. Tension is.
Through luminous color, layered textures, and subtle surface movement, Szutor creates an emotional landscape that feels suspended between visibility and disappearance. Her paintings do not describe a fixed place, but instead behave like an inner state — shifting, layered, and constantly transforming.
Suspended She is not a figure to be decoded.
It is a condition to be crossed.
We warmly invite you to join us for the opening reception on Thursday, May 21, 2026, 6–8 PM.
